Counseling Intensive
A counseling intensive is an immersive and focused therapeutic experience designed to provide individuals or couples with concentrated support and healing over a relatively short period of time, typically spanning a few days to a week. During a counseling intensive, clients work closely with a dedicated therapist or a team of therapists to address specific concerns or challenges in a deep and comprehensive manner. This format allows for extended and uninterrupted therapeutic sessions, fostering a more immediate in-depth exploration of issues and the opportunity to address specific concerns and time to develop practical strategies for continued growth. It can be particularly beneficial for individuals or couples facing immediate or acute challenges, as well as those seeking a transformative experience or looking to accelerate their therapeutic journey.
Counseling Intensives at Peak One Counseling are currently conducted in the Dallas office and are tailored specifically to a client’s needs. The process starts with a short interview to determine the most beneficial approach and if an intensive is the appropriate support for a client’s needs and goals. Intensives are not a substitute for residential treatment and are not appropriate for those clients needing a higher level of care.
EMDR
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy is a specialized form of psychotherapy designed to help individuals process distressing memories and traumatic experiences. Through a structured approach involving bilateral stimulation, typically in the form of eye movements, auditory tones, or tactile sensations, clients are guided to access and reprocess traumatic memories in a safe and controlled manner. This process facilitates the integration of traumatic memories with more adaptive information, leading to a reduction in distressing symptoms and the promotion of emotional healing and resilience. EMDR therapy is evidence-based and has been shown to be effective in treating post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), as well as other trauma-related conditions.
Faith and Spiritually Informed Sessions
Available for both individual and couple's sessions, our team at Peak One Counseling is committed to our own spiritual lives and is open to incorporating faith into sessions as desired by our clients. Rooted in the Christian tradition and worldview, we respect each person's unique beliefs and do not counsel towards adopting our own religious or spiritual views. Instead, we provide a sacred space for individuals to explore, deepen, and find solace in their connection to their beliefs and values. Our faith-informed sessions aim to nurture the spiritual side of our client's lives, offering compassionate and non-judgmental support as they navigate questions, seek meaning, and integrate their spiritual beliefs into their daily life. For clients who identify specifically as Christian and desire faith to be incorporated in their sessions, we have therapists specifically trained to integrate biblical wisdom and psychological insight to help clients find healing, restoration, and growth in alignment with their faith journey.
Enneagram Informed Sessions
Enneagram-informed therapy utilizes the rich wisdom of the Enneagram system to enhance the therapeutic process. By understanding clients' Enneagram types and associated patterns, therapists can tailor interventions and strategies that resonate with their clients' individual needs and motivations. Enneagram-informed therapy empowers clients to explore their inner world with deeper self-awareness and gain insight into why they do what they do. Therapeutic Yoga for Anxiety
Learn how to manage your anxiety through a mind-body approach. Anxiety can get the best of anyone, especially in our fast-paced world. This group will help you slow down and learn how to utilize specific breathing exercises and movements to feel empowered to navigate your anxiety. The group also provides a space to process your emotions in a confidential, non-judgmental setting. This group is not a replacement for individual therapy but can aid in gaining skills to manage your daily life more effectively.
Enneagram Type Group - Type 1
Are you an Enneagram Type 1 looking to deepen your understanding of your personality and find ways to work with your unique gifts and challenges? Our Enneagram Type Group for Type 1 is designed just for you. This group is not a therapy group, but rather a supportive and informative space where you can connect with others who share your type and learn practical tools for your personal growth and transformation.
Led and facilitated by Wendy Miller, a Narrative Enneagram Certified Practitioner, this group will provide you with the tools and insights you need to harness your strengths and navigate the challenges that come with being a Type 1. You'll gain a deeper understanding of the Type 1 structure and learn practical strategies for personal development.

Enneagram Typing Interview
An Enneagram Typing Interview at Peak One Counseling is a structured and insightful conversation between an individual and a Certified Narrative Enneagram Practitioner.* Through this collaborative exploration, the Enneagram Typing Interview aims to facilitate the individual's personal discovery process rather than solely revealing their core Enneagram type. During the interview, the practitioner will ask a series of open-ended questions designed to uncover the individual's core drives and motivations. These questions often explore various life experiences, values, and reactions to stress or conflict. Through this process of inquiry and self-reflection, individuals gain clarity and insight and will narrow down their dominant Enneagram type, enabling them to embark on a journey of self-awareness and personal growth using the tool of the Enneagram.
