Annalise Harness, MA, LPC, LMFT

Annalise is a Texas native and grew up in San Antonio, TX. She received her bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Education. After college, Annalise moved to Austin and started her career as a middle school teacher. Although Annalise loved her time in education, she knew she wanted to connect with people on a deeper level and decided to pursue her master’s in Biblical Counseling at Dallas Theological Seminary, where she graduated in 2018. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy at Texas Wesleyan University.

Annalise has counseling experience working in both private practice and clinical settings. Before going into private practice full-time, Annalise worked in an intensive outpatient program for individuals struggling with eating disorders. She has experience treating individuals suffering from anxiety, depression, eating disorders, trauma and emotional regulation as well as working with relationship dynamics among couples. Annalise has a passion for helping to equip individuals to tackle the many challenges life brings. Annalise’s goal in counseling is to provide a collaborative environment where clients can process and receive feedback on how to move forward through the challenges they are facing and achieve their goals. Annalise is EMDR trained which she utilizes to help clients address trauma and negative narratives about themselves.  

Annalise has also received specialized training in Emotionally Focused Therapy, an empirically supported therapy for couples, and in interventions for mothers struggling with perinatal mood disorders, such as postpartum depression and anxiety.

When not at Peak One Counseling, you can find Annalise grabbing coffee from one of her favorite local spots, trying a new pilates class, or spending time outdoors with her husband, two kids and golden-doodle, Brinkley!
