Joy Lockard, MS, LPC, LMFT

Joy Lockard, MS, is a licensed marriage and family therapist with a passion for walking alongside her clients as they pursue healing and growth in their physical, mental, emotional, relational, and spiritual lives. In 2006, she received her masters in Marital and Family Therapy from the School of Psychology at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, CA. Her clinical training has included work with children, families, individual adults, and couples in community mental health, school-based mental health, and in private practice settings. Joy has experience working with clients on a wide range of issues, including parent-child attachment; distressed relationships; anxiety and depression; grief and loss; as well as major life events such as engagement, marriage, pregnancy and parenting. Joy has received specialized training in Emotionally Focused Therapy, an empirically supported therapy for couples, and in interventions for mothers struggling with perinatal mood disorders, such as postpartum depression and anxiety.

Joy and her family are actively involved in their church where she teaches children’s Sunday School and in the premarital preparation program. In her free time, Joy enjoys taking walks, doing yoga, curling up with a good book, trying out new restaurants with her husband, or having a dance party at home with her three children.
